What Is It That I Rebuke? | Job 6:14-30 14 Though the discouraged one forsakes the fear of the Almighty, he receives compassion from his friends. 15 My brothers are fickle like streams, and they pass away like the currents of the streams. 16 When the ice melts, the water becomes black, and the snow is hidden within it. 17 When it is warm, it dries up; when it is hot, it vanishes completely from its place. 18 Caravans turn away from their path and enter the desolate fields to perish. 19 The caravans of Tema look upon it, and the travelers of Sheba long for it. 20 But when they come there, they are ashamed of what they had hoped for and are discouraged. 21 Now you are nothing; you are afraid because you have seen the fearful things. 22 When did I ever ask you for anything? Did I ask for your wealth as a gift for me? 23 When did I ever say, “Deliver me from the hand of the enemy”? Did I ever say, “Deliver me from the hand of the tyrant”? 24 Teach me to realize my faults. I I shall be silent 25 How painful is it to speak the truth, and what is it that you rebuke? 26 You think of rebuking others, but the words of the discouraged are blown away by the wind. 27 You cast lots for the orphans and sell your friends. 28 Now I beg you, turn your faces toward Me, for I will never lie to you face to face. 29 Turn back, do not become evildoers; My righteousness remains intact, so return. 30 Is there any unrighteousness on My tongue?
