The Sandeshaya Awards 2025, organized by the Ananda College Broadcasting Unit, marks the grand return of the iconic national youth media program after a decade-long hiatus. First established in 2002, Sandeshaya has evolved into a pioneering platform that empowers Sri Lankan school students to engage with the changing landscape of media, innovation, and critical thinking. Over the years, Sandeshaya has grown from Sri Lanka’s largest school media day festival into a dynamic national initiative that encourages research, dialogue, and youth participation in shaping the country’s media discourse. Continuing this legacy, Sandeshaya 2025 features an island-wide research initiative exploring school students’ perspectives on media ethics and media regulation, contributing meaningful insights to the national conversation on responsible media. The ceremony also celebrates excellence through the ISAC’25 Awards, Sri Lanka’s largest school media competition dedicated to recognizing and nurturing young talent in journalism, broadcasting, and creative media.
