Psalm 137 is one of the most painful exile laments in Scripture. By the rivers of Babylon, God’s people sat down and wept when they remembered Zion. Their harps were still there, but they hung them on the willows. Their captors demanded songs of Zion, but the people refused to turn holy worship into entertainment. “How Shall We Sing” is a Psalm 137 adaptation about sacred grief, covenant memory, holy silence, and trusting the LORD to remember what was done. The song does not rush to a happy ending.
