खगोलिकी खगोलिकी आकाशीय पिण्डों के उत्पत्ति, गतियों तथा विशेषताओं का वैज्ञानिक अध्ययन है। ब्रह्माण्ड, आकाशगंगाओं, तारों तथा आकाशीय पिण्डों की उत्पत्ति तथा उनके निर्माण का अध्ययन ब्रह्माण्ड विज्ञान की विषयवस्तु है । जिनका मानव, ग्रहों तथा उपग्रहों पर प्रभाव पड़ता है, जो हमसे भी गहन रूप से सम्बन्धित होते हैं और यह वैज्ञानिक अनुसन्धान की भी विषय- वस्तु है। वैज्ञानिकों द्वारा चन्द्र और सूर्य ग्रहण का अध्ययन किया जाता है । अक्षांश और देशान्तर खगोलिकी तथा भूगोल की विषयवस्तु है। अक्षांश पृथ्वी पर तापीय, वायुदाब तथा जैविक पेटियों को समझने में सहायक होते हैं जबकि देशान्तर रेखाएँ हमे विश्व समय की गणना तथा अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय तिथि रेखा को समझने में सहायक होती हैं। ASTRONOMY Astronomy is the scientific study of origin, motions and characteristics of celestial bodies. Origin and formation of universe, galaxies, stars are cosmological is the subject matter of cosmology which have astrological impact on man. Planets, satellites are also deeply associated with us and subject matter of scientific research. Solar and lunar eclipses are studied by scientists. Latitudes and longitudes are the common topics in astronomy and geography . Latitudes help understanding thermal, pressure and biotic zones while meridians of longitudes help us in world time calculation and IDL .
