Located at 225 Parsons Street in Kalamazoo, this building was constructed by Gibson in 1917 and saw numerous expansions and additions through the years. In the mid 1970's Gibson opened a second plant in Nashville, and for awhile was operating out of both the Kalamazoo and Nashville factories. In 1984 the Kalamazoo location officially closed, with all Gibson Guitar operations moving to Nashville, TN. On April 1, 1985, The Heritage Guitar Co. opened in the 225 Parsons Street location where they remain as of 2025. Heritage was founded by former Gibson employees, many of whom had been with the company since the 1950s, and wanted to remain in Kalamazoo.
