The roads of Çağman Plateau, located at an altitude of 1800 meters in Tonya district of Trabzon, were enlivened by Black Sea music and the horon dance. Setting off from Kalınçam neighborhood with the first rays of dawn, the herders, dressed in traditional clothing, passed through a route showcasing every shade of green, with their animals adorned with colorful headdresses knitted by women with string and beads, until they reached the plateau. The group enjoyed themselves by dancing the horon from time to time during the journey. After a long and arduous journey, the herders, who will spend approximately 4 months on the plateau, will prepare for winter by making yogurt, cheese, and butter from the milk of the animals they graze in the pastures. - He has been migrating to the plateau since childhood Livestock breeder Eray Çetin said that every year at this time, he migrates to Çağman Plateau, 19 kilometers away from his neighborhood, with his 12 head of cattle. Stating that they have been bringing their animals to more productive pastures during the summer for years, 26-year-old Çetin said, "We are trying to follow in the footsteps of our ancestors." Çetin, who explained that they reach the plateau from Kalınçam Neighborhood by walking for about two hours, said that he works together with his sister, brother, and nephews on the plateau. Emphasizing that he loves the plateau very much, Çetin said, "If they asked me to summarize the plateau in a single sentence, I would say 'Priceless peace'." Çetin stated that they wander around with the animals on the plateau, saying, "We don't have many activities. If there is pasture work, you work in the pasture, our daily life is spent with the animals."
