Before her death, Françoise Hardy revealed Jacques Dutronc's terrible secret. Françoise Hardy was born in Paris in 1944, the illegitimate daughter of accountant Madeleine Hardy (1920–1991). She had a sister, born in 1945 and died in 2004. The family lived modestly in a two-room apartment on Rue d'Aumale in the 9th arrondissement of Paris.[1] Hardy's father was Pierre Dillard (1899–1981), a married calculating machine manufacturer from Blois and brother of a Jesuit deported to Dachau during the Nazi era. At the request of her father, whom she and her sister met later and saw only a few times a year, Hardy attended a girls' school run by nuns. For eight years, she spent her summer holidays with an Austrian family near Innsbruck. Her father, as she later reported in her memoirs, was beaten and killed in his apartment by a young prostitute at the age of 81.[2]
