Atmospheric / Linear PERSPECTIVE - Three dimensional DEPTH in your PAINTING with colour/tonal value!

Today I will be giving a demonstration on how to achieving distance and depth in a painting, with the use of aerial (atmospheric) and linear perspective.This will be done by manipulating the colours and tonal values, to achieve a three dimensional illusion of distance and space on a two dimensional surface! I will be using oil paint, palette knifes and working on a clear primed - stretched Belgian linen. Recently I've been working on white primed canvas and it is a sheer joy to go back to the raw colour of Belgian linen. My reference for this demonstration comes from the opal mining town of Coober Pedy in outback South Australia, which is the largest supplier of opals in the world today.
