Lavigne has sold 62 million albums and 84 million singles worldwide, reaching number one on the Billboard charts six times. Her career seemed unstoppable until, after a long battle with Lyme disease, she was forced to retire from performing for several years. In 2021, Avril returns to the mainstream in collaboration with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and his record label BTA Records, with her new single "Bite Me," a preview of her new album and a new tour in 2022.
