2016 Mazda CX-5 UNBOXING Review

Today's unboxing review is one of our favorite crossovers on the market today, the 2016 Mazda CX-5. We've been a fan of it ever since it went on sale for 2013 and Mazda has recently given it an update before the next generation model arrives. What does the CX-5 have going for it other crossovers don't? The fun factor. For example, the base transmission here is a six-speed manual. And for those who don't want to row their own gears, a six-speed automatic is optional, as is all-wheel drive, both of which can be had on any of the three trim levels. Crossovers, at their very nature, are designed to be suburban people haulers, essentially replacements for the station wagon and those who find minivans to be dorky. Classified as a compact crossover, the CX-5, though not extremely luxurious, can be thought of as the poor man's BMW X3 or Audi Q5. There isn't much it doesn't do well. The CX-5 is a great balance of utility, space, efficiency and great driving dynamics. And yes, it's more fun to drive than its direct competitors, namely the Ford Escape. Enjoy the review!
