FIP Overview 2025 and Beyond
Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) was for decades an incurable and inevitably fatal disease in cats who acquired it, in particular young cats less than 2 years of age. There are now antiviral drugs that make FIP treatable. Information will be provided about what is FIP, how to diagnose, treat, and possibly prevent this disease. Many veterinarians are still unaware about the significant advances regarding FIP treatment and supportive care. This important information must continue to be shared to save more cats’ lives. Additional material will be provided about the serious FIP outbreak involving cats on the island of Cyprus and what is in the future for research on FIP.
