DIY Yabbie Pump Hand Dredge Gold Sucker! PVC Build & Garage Bucket Test

Today we’re building something I’ve always wanted in my gold arsenal. A Yabbie / Yabby pump. You might know it as a hand dredge, gold sucker, or even a PVC gold vacuum, but in the garage prospector lab, we call it the Gold Sucker. It’s built from simple PVC pipes, a rubber plunger, and a whole lot of prospecting optimism. In this video, I walk through how I built it, why it works, and then we test it right in the garage. No river. No fancy creek. Just buckets, water, and a dream. The concept is simple: Use suction to pull gold-rich sediment from tight cracks and crevices where gold likes to hide. 🪙 Will it suck gold… or just suck? Stick around to find out — and no skipping ahead! 💡 What is a yabbie/yabby pump? Australian-style hand dredge used to extract gold-bearing sand and gravel (or crayfish) from cracks. Works perfectly in shallow creeks or even your garage test bucket. 🔧 Materials I used: • 2” and 3/4" diameter 24" PVC pipe tubes • Rubber plunger/seal • PVC couplers and end caps • Handle grip (optional but looks awesome) • Questionable Dremel engineering 💬 Questions for YOU: Would you trust this thing in a real creek? 👍 Subscribe for more DIY gear builds, backyard paydirt prospecting, wild Ohio gold (someday), Dream Mat setups, and a little chaos. #GoldProspecting #HandDredge #YabbiePump #DIYGold #OhioGold #BasementGold #YabbyPump #DIYHandDredge #PVCGoldPump #GarageProspecting #OhioGold #GoldSucker #DIYGoldGear Check out my playlist for more gold adventures!    • Chris Gold Pan: Adventures in Ohio Gold Pr...
