Knotting 302 - Round Lashing
In this episode, we will be demonstrating a basic lashing called the Round Lashing. It is a vertical lashing which is used to join two poles together to extend their length. Here is how to tie the Round Lashing Step #1. Begin with Clove Hitch or Constrictor Knot around both poles Step #2. Continually wrap the rope around both poles, saving enough rope for tying another clove hitch or constrictor knot. Step #3. Pull tight, and secure the lashing with another Clove Hitch or Constrictor Knot It is common practice to tie two Round Lashings in-line to increase the stability of the extended spar by removing the pivot point.
