TRIP REPORT | ANA A380 ‘Flying Honu’ | Hawaii to Japan !

All Nippon Airways special A380 "Flying Honu" from Honolulu,Hawaii to Tokyo,Japan! We start our Trip Report at Honolulu,Oahu island,State of Hawaii,United States. This tropical paradise is the furthest away from home we have ever been, literally on the other side of the world! Since the early 2010s when these aircrafts ordered from the airlines we had the dream to fly on them ,3 special livery A380s ordered by ANA with the first delivered back in 2019. All 3 operate exclusively between Tokyo and Hawaii. Inspired by Hawaiian sea turtles the 3 aircrafts feature a unique livery in Blue,Orange & Green The airport in Honolulu has an open air layout helped by the local climate, an avgeek's dream airport. ANA operate 2 lounge in Honolulu and we had the privilege to visit one of them credit to our Star Alliance Gold status.Impressive given is an outstation lounge with nice food and nice views of the apron! Before boarding we had the opportunity to witness our aircraft in all its glory,any A380 is a spectacle but the orange livery makes it the most beautiful ever built! Was staring at it like a work of art! The seat (46K) is spacious enough for economy class with decent legroom & nice modern IFE screen. Of course economy on the A380 is always more comfortable than other aircrafts but the kindness of the crew ,catering and overall ANA's great service and amenities made the flight a delightful experience The crew was amongst the best ever encountered,super friendly ,kind and addressing every need in professional yet warm manner. Inflight Wifi was available throughout the flight but we did not purchase any package. Japanese airlines have excellent reputation for service and this flight was not an exception! ANA economy class is up there with the likes of Emirates & Singapore Airlines as the world's best long haul economy class product..at least on the superjumbo! Have you flown with All Nippon Airways?
