Flexity-Betrieb Graz - Start des Fahrgastbetriebs

This Wednesday, May 27, 2026, marked the maiden voyage of the new Flexity trams in Graz. Like those in Vienna, these trams are manufactured by Alstom. A total of 31 have been ordered, and all are expected to be in service on the Graz tram network by 2028. At 34 meters long, these trams are 6 meters longer than the Graz Cityrunner and Variobahn trams. A Flexity tram set includes 6 doors, 140 standing places, 60 seats, and 2 wheelchair spaces. Numbered 541 to 571, they will be gradually put into service. The first regular routes are lines 4, 7, and 17. The first tram was named Theodora, after the first female tram driver in 1988. This type of tram is intended to eventually replace the old high-floor trams of the 500 series.
