Hey everyone! Welcome to another important update on our marine aquarium! In today's video, the main focus is on safety and biological stability — two pillars for any successful reef. We start by talking about the new infrastructure: I show you how the aquarium's electrical installation looks after the work of a professional electrician. We added 2 RCBOs and 2 outlets completely dedicated to the system. Following the best electrical standards is essential for peace of mind! I also share a crucial modification I made to the temperature sensors on the Inkbird controller. I made an adaptation to ensure they never go out of the water. This eliminates the risk of the sensor accidentally measuring ambient air — which, especially with the colder climate here, could cause the heater to work non-stop and overheat the display. But the biggest lesson of the video is about CYCLING! Did you know that bacteria consume Alkalinity (KH) while the aquarium cycles? I show how my KH plummeted to 5 dKH. If I didn't intervene, this drop would pull the pH down and stagnate the entire nitrogen cycle. I explain in detail how I identified this and show the elements of the Balling method that I purchased to proactively replenish and maintain accelerated biology. Explanation of what RCBO is and how it is known in Brazil; An RCBO (Residual Current Breaker with Overload) is an essential safety device in modern electrical installations. In Portuguese, it is known as a Residual Current Circuit Breaker (RCCB) with overload protection. Basically, it is a "two-in-one": it combines the functions of a common circuit breaker with those of an RCCB (Residual Current Interrupter). The Two Main Functions 1 - Protection against Electric Shocks (Current Leakage): It detects if electricity is "escaping" from the circuit (through a bare wire or a person touching an energized part). If there is a leakage, it instantly trips to prevent a fatal shock. 2 - Circuit Protection (Overload and Short Circuit): Like a traditional circuit breaker, it trips if you plug too many appliances into an outlet (overload) or if there is a short circuit, protecting the wiring against fires.
