Today we walk the evocative Maronari Trail, an ancient mule track that connects the area of ​​Ponte di Velo di Lusiana with Laverda, passing through woods, ancient districts, and vestiges of a now-forgotten past. The name "Maronari" derives from "maroni," or chestnuts, which for centuries were one of the main food and economic resources of the local population. This trail was used by farmers and traders to transport chestnuts, wood, and other products between the mountains and the plains.
