Testing Heat Treated Frisco Chert for Knapping
I heated this batch of Frisco chert to about 550 degrees(F) and in this video I knock some test flakes off to see how the rock changed. Heat treatment softens the rock and makes it more brittle and therefore easier to knap. It also can bring out different colors in the rock. Check out my tutorials! • Tutorials and Walkthroughs
