He formed the group Los Legendarios in 1978 with his brother Heriberto Gómez, achieving hits such as "Ángel perdido" and "Pensando en ella." Darío also had a distinguished solo career with iconic songs such as "Nobody is Eternal," "The King of Spite," and "Daniela," a song dedicated to his granddaughter after the tragic death of his daughter Luz Dary. Darío Gómez passed away on July 26, 2022, at the age of 71 due to a heart attack, leaving behind an indelible legacy in Colombian popular music.
