Restoration of 65 years old Meccano E20R (S) Electric Motor

This Meccano E20R (S) Electric Motor was made in year 1956. The motor ran pretty well, but it was dusty, weak and the lubricants had solidified during the decades. It was dismantled, cleaned, lubricated and finally reassembled. Meccano Ltd company started marketing E20R Motors in year 1949. Marking E20R (S) means: Electric Motor, 20 volts, Reversing. Letter S standing for ‘Suppressed’. The motors were equipped with interference suppression capacitors to reduce interference with tv-sets and radios since 1956. Meccano company replaced E20R motors by new model, 15 volts E15R motors, in 1958. The motor is driven by 5-17 volts, 32 VA Märklin 6647 AC transformer.
