Autos argentinos en Malvinas

A decade before the outbreak of the war between Argentina and Great Britain over sovereignty of the Falkland Islands, both countries had established a policy of rapprochement and exchange between the archipelago and the mainland. In compliance with international agreements, in 1972 Líneas Aéreas del Estado (LADE) began operating in the islands with a regular flight connecting Comodoro Rivadavia with Port Stanley (the name of the islands' capital at the time), using a Grumman Albatros amphibious aircraft. Later, the frequency increased to two weekly flights using Fokker F-27 and F-28 aircraft. Air services operated regularly until 1982, when they were completely suspended due to the South Atlantic conflict.
