This month, we headed north to Pretoria to sit down with Ricardo and unpack his drag bakkie - Maverick. This squeaky clean Nissan Champ was first bought by his father Martin more than 5 years ago. They first used it to run the streets and lay down some decent times at Black Rock Raceway in Pretoria. But the world of Drag Racing was moving forward and they wanted to move with it. They decided to fully forge the CA18 engine, stroked to 1.9 litres, and equip it with a Liberty Gears gearbox.
