The Most Detailed A220 Ever Made Is Almost Here

The Airbus A220 has never had a proper study-level add-on for ANY flight simulator — until now. Synaptic Simulations is releasing their A220 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 next week, and they sent me an early preview build to show you. This is NOT a review — I don't even know the price yet, and there are still some bugs to iron out before release. Think of it as a first look at what might just be the release of the year. And what a plane it is. The exterior detail is genuinely unreal: you can open the engine cowling, every single fan blade has its own serial number, and there's a QR code on the engine that actually scans. The cockpit is a fully simulated Bombardier design — completely unlike any Boeing or Airbus we've flown before, with knobs where Airbus would normally have clicky switches, automatic IRS alignment, and a unique terrain overlay map no other add-on has. Oh, and the sound. The Pratt & Whitney geared turbofans genuinely howl like a whale at low thrust. It's the best part. We take it out of London City for a look at the systems, the cabin, the crazy-detailed spoilers, and a couple of landings. Some things are still glitchy — the GPWS callouts and airport map weren't cooperating — but remember, this isn't the final build. The A220 releases next week.
