Struggle 10 - Course Record 165km 3100m

Struggle Dales 10 year anniversary, a race cancellation opened up the opportunity to ride this event and once again push my limits on a different course, no real long climbs above 10 mins but accumulating significant elevation nonetheless, a well organised event and plenty of phenomenal rides by all. Sapping and windy lanes, rough surfaces but stunning views and fast flowing descents another da to remember. Carrying the motivation from the Fred Whitton but this was a totally different effort, the majority of work being done by me and 1 other and then solo for the last hour. Another opportunity to test my fatigue resistance after 4000kjs on Norwood edge, a respectable 375w for 6 mins but 2 ramps where i was looking down over 400w after 4hrs 30. The race for sub 5hr was on. A hot slog back after last hill but finishing in 5hr 1 minute. Gutted but 4hr 55min moving time and being slowed by thimgs out of our control. Opting to feed in this event too due to the heat and a quick stop is something i need to work on. Felt great to go after another course and pleased with my performance, hope you enjoyed!
