The Race Nobody Could Finish (Erzberg 2015)

Extreme enduro is a discipline of motorcycle racing where riders compete against the course as much as one another, and no extreme enduro event is more prestigious than the original, the daddy – Erzbergrodeo. Founded in the 90s by local Austrian nut job, Karl Katoch – it’s a hare scramble that sees over 1500 riders each year, start from the bottom of the 1000-year-old iron mine and wind their way up to the top, then back down again. Traversing along the way; huge hill climbs, steep descents, boulder fields and tree-root-riddled forestry. Karl has always designed the course to be the nearest thing to impossible, with his ultimate vision of a year where only one-lone-rider would reach the finish line.
