Cattle Dock For Teignbury

Cattle docks were a common feature at most rural railway stations in the UK until at least the post WWII era. Many remained in place even after the railways began to consolidate cattle loading facilities as many farmers gained access to trucks or lorries and road improvements made longer distance road transport possible. Even today many heritage railways have retained or rebuilt cattle docks. The Peco/Ratio kits provide a good starting place to add a cattle dock to your layout and can be easily cut down or expanded. In this video I want to share with you how I painted and weathered the Ratio kit based on the Severn Valley Railway dock at Highly. So let's get started!
