The W1 is equipped with the latest 4.0L twin-turbo hybrid V8 engine, which produces a total of 1,275 horsepower. This engine is paired with an F1-style electric motor, which is a high-revving type that can reach 9,200 rpm. It is the most powerful road car in McLaren history. It accelerates from 0-100km/h faster than the McLaren P1, from 0-200km/h it beats the Ferrari SF90 and Lamborghini Revuelto, and from 0-300km/h it beats the Bugatti Chiron. Despite all this power, it is rear-wheel drive with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It's designed like a Koenigsegg. The car's top speed is 350km/h, but what's really amazing is its lap time on the circuit. At the Nardo Circuit in Italy, it beat the McLaren Senna's record by three seconds. This is made possible by advanced aerodynamics derived from F1. The huge rear diffuser and active wing combine to generate 1,000kg of downforce. Naturally, this overwhelming performance doesn't come cheap. It costs 400 million yen, and the limited 399 units have already sold out. But this is just a part of the next generation of hypercars.
