Ram also extended the 1500's powertrain warranty to 10 years or 100,000 miles this year. A BackCountry trim is also new this year, and features a one-inch suspension lift, underbody skidplates, and a host of rugged styling cues. To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, Ram will offer a red, white, or blue America250 special edition of the 1500's Big Horn, Laramie, and Rebel trim levels. All come with a special American flag hood decal and special commemorative emblems on the interiors. Pricing and Which One to Buy The price of the 2026 Ram 1500 starts at $44.820 and goes up to $91.595 depending on the trim and options. Engine, Transmission, and Performance The Ram 1500 now offers a trio of gasoline powertrain options: a V-6, a V-8, and a twin-turbo inline-six. Both six-cylinder options pair with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. The base V-6 is assisted by a 48-volt hybrid system and makes 305 horsepower. The vaunted 5.7-liter Hemi makes its return after a brief hiatus, making 395 horsepower, also with the help of a mild hybrid system. The twin-turbo inline-six—which Ram calls Hurricane—makes either 420 or 540 horsepower. We sampled the 540-hp version of this engine in a crew-cab Limited 4x4 truck, and we're convinced it's more than enough power for truck duty. It's also an impressively refined engine. The 420-hp version of this engine also provides plenty of grunt. For adventurous folk, the rugged Rebel model provides beefier looks and legitimate off-road capability. Every Ram 1500 has a comfortable ride thanks to a rear suspension that uses standard coil springs versus the traditional leaf-spring setups found on domestic rivals.
