This was our last mountain hike of this trip. Without the kids, just us and the trail. Despite a day off after Czerwone Wierchy, we feel every meter in our legs. We no longer have that freshness, and the climbs hurt more than usual. But one more place beckons us – the Valley of Five Lakes. We set off in the morning, first through the forest, then steeply uphill. Silence, only our own breath and the murmur of the stream. We reach the ponds – beautiful as always, but the thought already lurks in the back of our minds: "And there's still Świstówka Lake ahead of us." The hike to Morskie Oko is exhausting. We descend in silence, focused, tired, but stubborn. There are few people on the trail, as if the mountains were also growing quieter. Finally, we reach Morskie Oko – there, exhaustion sets in. Only the asphalt road downhill remains... It wasn't an easy hike. But it was necessary. To complete this trip.
