Dänemark 2026 - Himmelfahrtskommando auf der A7 🚐💨 - Richtung Sønderborg 🇩🇰

Ascension Day 2026 – we took advantage of the long weekend and planned a longer trip across the border. Joining us were Stephan's parents and Teddy, their trusty Weinsberg Pepper campervan. But before we could really get going, Baghi had to go in for servicing so our Malibu van would be ready for the trip. What followed was a real ordeal: a traffic jam right after the garage, 36 km in 1.5 hours, the next traffic jam on the A7, a spontaneous nap, and to top it all off, a complete closure of the A7 near Hamburg due to night roadworks. So, we drove right through Hamburg – at night – in the campervan. Around 1 a.m., we finally reached Flensburg and picked up Stephan's parents in the morning. After refueling (definitely cheaper in Germany than in Denmark in May), we continued on to Sønderborg. At the Hygge – Sønderborg Autocamper Park Aps campsite, we even managed to snag two spots next to each other. And because the weather is cooperating better than expected, we grab our bikes and explore the beautiful city. Part 2 is coming soon – we'll continue on to Fynshav and the island of Als.
