Going Back In Time To The 2001 Nopi Nationals at Atlanta Motor Speedway | From the Archives

We grab this footage "From the Archives" and step back in time 20+ years ago to the 2001 NOPI Nationals Motorsports Supershow held at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hamilton, GA. At the time, this show was the largest gathering catering to Import/Tuner cars with as many ~7k vehicles in its peak or popularity. This show was about a week after the 9/11 attacks had happened and this served as a bit of a distraction from that for those of us in attendance. I wasn't sure how attendance would be impacted, but attendance was undeterred. The show was still packed like I had always remembered. This was filmed on a JVC GR-DVL310OU MiniDV camcorder and the stills were taken with an old Kodak DC280 2.0Mp camera which was good tech for that time. Just temper your expectations, this is old footage, and it is not nearly as crisp and clear as video filmed today. I was starting to find a slightly better filming style at this point albeit still not so great lol. I never envisioned when I filmed this that I would share it out with the world, but I think it is great to share such things because it provides a bit of a time capsule for people.
