American Pie - Ellen Andersson (Don McLean Cover)

I’ve tried to cover this song at least once every other month since back in summer 2021! It’s so so so good, but Jesus Christ it’s so wordy and so long!!! I got through it today though, YAY! It’s funny how you can listen to a song regularly for so many years, and then when you sit down to play it yourself, you all of a sudden forget the melody in some places. That happened a couple of times in this cover, but instead of saying that it was a mistake I’ll just say that it was MEANT to be that way of course, it was just me adding my own spice to it… hehe. Ah, this song. What a wonderful piece of art. The idea of music dying and what would happen if it did is honestly one of the saddest things I can imagine. What a terrible world we would live in if that happened. I’ve loved this song in so many ways over the years. Back in 2020 I read a book called “They Both Die At The End” which got really popular on social media, and in that book, the two main characters sing this song on the day that they (yes, you guessed it) are gonna die. It gave a new meaning to the song for me, it was so literal and devastating. I couldn’t stop listening to the song for days afterwards. Anyways, hope you enjoy this flawed cover! I was just so thrilled I got through it without messing up too much!
