Qual è la Differenza tra Diabete di Tipo 1 e Diabete di Tipo 2 | Pillole di Scienza

#Diabetes is a term that identifies certain conditions characterized by polyuria (abundant urine production), polydipsia (abundant water intake), and polyphagia (excessive hunger). The term is commonly used to indicate a chronic disease, classified within the group of conditions known as diabetes mellitus, characterized by a high blood glucose concentration. This is in turn caused by a deficiency (absolute or relative) of insulin in the human body, a hormone that stimulates glucose uptake into muscle and fat cells, decreasing blood glucose concentration. This disease affects millions of people every year, and its consequences can be serious. This video explains the main differences between type 1 diabetes (an autoimmune disease) and type 2 diabetes.
