Introduction to the Benefits of Ancient Woodland Restoration | Woodland Trust
Many of the UK’s ancient woods have been damaged and are in need of restoration. Restoring these precious areas can help the growth of sensitive woodland plants and offer new habitats for wildlife. It can also provide a sustainable supply of wood fuel and timber and offer a number of diversification opportunities. Thanks to generous funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, we are working with landowners across the UK to restore their ancient woodlands and explore the benefits this provides.
