Table Mountain Abseil - 11 November 2020

Some experiences remind you just how incredible this world really is. I got to celebrate my birthday in the most unforgettable way—by stepping off the top of Table Mountain and abseiling 112 metres down the face of one of the #New7Wonders of Nature. Safe to say, this birthday will be one I'll never forget! Standing on the edge, looking out over Cape Town, the Atlantic Ocean, Lion's Head, and the Twelve Apostles, was both humbling and breathtaking. That first step backwards over the edge definitely gets the heart racing, but within moments the fear is replaced by excitement, confidence, and an appreciation for the spectacular scenery surrounding you. It's amazing how often we live so close to one of the world's greatest natural wonders and never truly experience it. Today I did—and it was worth every second. What an incredible reminder that some of life's greatest adventures begin just outside your comfort zone. Sometimes all it takes is trusting yourself enough to take that first step. A huge thank you to the incredible team who made the experience safe, professional, and unforgettable. Could there have been a better way to celebrate a birthday? I don't think so.
