The Marathon of the Dolomites is one of the most prestigious and fascinating cycling events in the world, and this year both Pier and I participated. Fausto Pinarello also participated in the event, and during the race with 8,050 participants, fate caused us to cross paths several times on the course. The marathon takes place every year in the spectacular mountains of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering participants a unique and unforgettable experience. The Marathon of the Dolomites is not just a race, but a journey through some of the most beautiful scenic roads in Italy, between breathtaking mountain passes and enchanting valleys. The demand to participate in the event is very high, not only because it is an opportunity to cycle in a natural environment of incomparable beauty, surrounded by breathtaking views, but also because the Maratona is a challenge to oneself, a test of physical and mental endurance. Finally, it is an opportunity to be part of a community of cycling enthusiasts, sharing the excitement and enthusiasm of this extraordinary adventure. There are 3 routes available: Sellarona from 55km for 1780m of altitude difference, Medium route from 106km for 3130m. 138km marathon by 4230m. The route is not a predefined imposition, but a decision you make during the journey.
