My Lagan Love - Nora Byrd & Steve Martin
Thank you very much, Nora, for singing my favorite Irish song!!! Tradition has it that this is a traditional Irish song from the 15th to 16th centuries. It's about the Lagan River in Belfast, and was “found” in Donegal in 1903. I’ve always been intrigued with the lyrics that speak fondly of the water and fascinating little creatures that live in and around it. The video location is not the actual Lagan River, but the North Branch of the Chicago River in Morton Grove, IL, where I live. The beautiful forest and animals have given me a place to escape from the craziness of the way life has changed due to the pandemic. I hope this music takes your mind away from your stressful day for a few moments, heals your heart, and helps you remember the things that are most important in life: good friends, love and peace. Blessings to you all! Steve Martin
