Project-Definition | Above the Rest (Documentary)

Everyday car enthusiast has story to tell. I wanted to take a break from the traditional montages that I've made and go for a more documentary approach. This is one of the first films I filmed this year and of course there are more to follow. Nelson Ugarte is a proud owner of a Nissan 300zx a.k.a. Fairlady Z. Probably the sickest looking setup I've seen a Z31 has and Nelson himself is quite a character. Hope you all enjoy this video as it took a lot of energy and collaboration to get all this to work. Cheers! Technical Description: The film was mostly shot on the Samsung NX1 at 4K/30fps!! Insane quality and file sizes! I downscaled the footage to 1080p and was super surprised on how the quality retained a lot of great detail. The wide shot of the interview was shot on a Canon 5D Mark III and still shines to be one of the greatest HD cameras to date. Lastly, a GoPro Hero3 was used for the aerial footage (humbly donated by William Nestlehutt) and was flown using the DJI Phantom 2+Zenmuse gimbal. Overall, happy with the film and I'm setting up a session to do a montage video in 4k! Thanks and enjoy!
