Federal Fire Service Calls For Review Of Act For Better Service Delivery.

The Nigeria Federal Fire Service says the restrictions on enforcing compliance to laid-down rules has impeded the service from delivering on its mandate to the public. The Comptroller-General of the Service made this known while addressing Newsmen in Abuja during the inauguration of a committee saddled with the responsibility of creating a new training guide expected to boost the capacity of Fire fighters. They say there is an urgent need for a review of the Fire service act, describing the 1963 act as being obsolete and lacking the provisions to combat emerging trends in the management of fire incidents.
