Title: The Methamorphosis Artist: Mr.Sweden Circle: Stratiotes Album: Amorphous Original: 懐かしき東方の血　～ Old World (Nostalgic Blood of the East ~ Old World) Before I comment anything about this song, let me first clarify why the hell did I took so many time to feature "Mr.Sweden" work on this channel. It isn't exactly because I don't like it, or it isn't because it does not get the "ChaosAngel quality seal" thingy. The problem is that I got mixed up with him, PEATH2 and warinside. Emiya and Moomaria told me about "Mr Sweden" existence so far ago, and I actually thing it was when the whole channel crisis happened. Therefore, between the reconstruction work, founding out what was going to be of the old account, and deciding what I was going to do next, this album sat on my computer for quite a long time. When I finally started uploading new songs, warinside(BLANKFIELD), PETH2 (ELECTRIC RED) and Onocha (Jaon life?) were on the list, however I completely forget about him because I find he belongs in the same set of this last 3 artist I mentioned. However, the past is now past, and let us focuse on the present now that the past has been clarified. For those who do not know him, allow me to introduce "Mr.Sweden". He belongs to a circle (and as usual he is the master of it) of "Stratiotes". His favorite bands are Darkane, Opeth, Dream Theater, and Messugah among others. In his favorite list, he also include other non metal bands and also going towards to the more classical genre. Igor Stravinsky, and Sergei Prokofiev. Of course, he also list ZUN as one of his favorite musicians. As a personal note, It strikes me quite odd he does not list "Symphony X" on his favorites. With such a classical and progressive rock favorites, for me the equation was pretty much solve into seeing Symphony X pop out soon or later. For those guitar junkies out there, he has an "Ibanez RG15271" and a "Caparison Dellinger II" (of course, he is Japanese, try to fund a Caparison to America and perhaps you would end without a liver). So anyway, talking about his sound. It isn't particular my favorite. It sounds a bit "fake" if you ask me, but this has it's reason. If you pay close attention, he has a similar tone that the one Onocha has, and I do believe they also have the same guitar. But this does not mean I don't enjoy the song. First of all, its "Old World", and if there existed something as "The best of ZUN", I'm quite sure that gorgeous poem would end on it. There is also the fact the song enjoys a varation on the middle of the song that I'm quite fond to it. He does not stick to one riff, and breaks out when he tries to solo. Another thing I thank is that he actually does justice to the word "arrange", and does not take this new trend of just implementing 5 seconds of the main song and calling itself a Touhou Arrange. For those who are thinking on researching their material, I warn to you his late work has gone towards the screaming vocal genre. Some of you may enjoy it, and some of you don't, but he has song that suit both cups of tea, and I'm pretty sure that with those influences, he will always try to include an instrumental track or two in their long albums. Before I close this comment, allow me to clarify a point of the channel. Lately I have been under a lot of pressure, with mathematic and music literally pulling each one the opposite side, my time has been reduced to what I had many time ago, when I updated the channel on the "two day" mechanic. As you guys probably tell, the channel now is almost a "one video per week" but I seriously don't find anymore time of what I have. Now, I'm not telling you this because you have an issue with it, nor because I felt pressure. But I'm just letting you know in case you sometimes wonder why I have been so "slow" with the past updates. I'm sorry it has to be this way, but I truly swear to you guys I just don't have anymore time. However, don't worry, sooner or later, the channel will receive an update...or two. Thanks for watching.
