This time in Slava and Davidik's driveway we're trying to replace the differential in Davidik's Pathfinder — not in a garage, not on a lift, but in a regular parking lot. Why alone? Because no garage is willing to accept this job, we've checked several places with Nissan repairers, and no one wants it. So what now? Should we throw the car away? Should we sell it for scrap? There's no choice but to do it ourselves. The plan was simple: start on Thursday evening, finish in two hours, and go home. In practice, as usually happens when you say "it shouldn't take long," the axles wouldn't come free from the diff no matter how hard we tried, the work dragged on into the night, and in the end we had to come back the next morning to finish the replacement, not without drama either, the diff fell off twice and one of the times on my leg.
