Konya/Cihanbeyli, "Türkler mi yoksa Kürtler mi çoğunluk"

We examined in detail the ethnic makeup of Cihanbeyli, a district of Konya province in the heart of Central Anatolia, encompassing one of the largest areas in the country. Kurdish migrations in the late 1700s and early 1800s continued with Turkish migration from Crimea and the Balkans, territories lost by the Ottomans. This shaped the district's current ethnic makeup. Today, with significant declines in the Kurdish population due to migration abroad, the district is becoming a district whose majority status is beginning to change. #turks #kurds #konya #cihanbeyli #yörüks #tatars
