30+ Steelhead Day in Erie PA… and a BLACK Steelhead!

Steelhead fishing in Erie, PA can be incredible — but days like this don’t happen often. We hooked into 30+ steelhead in a few hours on the Erie tributaries, and in the middle of the action we landed something we had never seen before… a black steelhead. An obvious resident of the hole for several months! Lake Erie steelhead are known for their power and crazy runs, but this fish stood out immediately with its dark coloration and heavy build. It was one of the most unique fish we’ve landed while fishing the Erie streams. Winter conditions, aggressive fish, and nonstop action made this one of those days that reminds us why we keep coming back to these creeks.
