Zapatero, contra las cuerdas: la UDEF descubre pagos, mensajes y anotaciones que le incriminan

Spanish politics is currently reeling from a dizzying succession of scandals that barely leave time to digest the gravity of each new revelation. This time, Sandra León, in her program "Socialismo S.L.," focuses on the so-called Zapatero case, an ongoing investigation that directly implicates the former Socialist Prime Minister after new and disturbing details emerged from police investigations. A damning report by the UDEF (Financial and Economic Crime Unit) has recently been made public, placing José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero in an extremely precarious legal position. The police document points to very strong evidence of the existence of an alleged criminal organization led by the former Prime Minister himself, which supposedly used his political influence and international contacts to carry out illicit intermediation for the benefit of various private clients. The epicenter of this investigation is Bolivia, where the former leader of the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party) allegedly received a substantial commission of 200,000 euros. This payment was allegedly intended to pressure the Constitutional Chamber of the Departmental Court of Justice of La Paz into forgiving a debt of no less than 107 million euros owed by the so-called Gloria Group, a powerful Peruvian business conglomerate with significant interests in several Latin American countries linked to the Puebla Group. The investigation also reveals the identities of Rodríguez Zapatero's regular companions on these lucrative trips. Among them are Venezuelan businessmen Amaro Chacón and the Secretary-General of the UNWTO, Zurab Pololikashvili.
