Scaling Digital Financial Services in Sub-Saharan Africa

Between 2011 and 2018, the Partnership for Financial Inclusion, a joint initiative of IFC and the MasterCard Foundation, embarked to work on two things - to work with financial institutions to scale digital financial services in Africa and to run a parallel knowledge program to better understand how this can be done. To help build industry knowledge the program decided to tackle three main questions: 1. How do digital financial services impact users? 2. Is there a business case for providers? 3. What are the drivers and barriers to the expansion of digital finance? Answers to these questions are presented in this video.
