In this series we are trying to show what problems you will encounter when restoring any automobile. Since the scouts we have were from New England you will encounter a lot of rust. Some panels may need to be remade while others will need a patch panel put in. Taking the fender off we encountered stubborn bolts. With the use of a cut off wheel and a torch we were able to free the fender. The hood was much easier to remove as there were only 6 bolts and they weren't rusted in place. In the next part of the International Scout Restoration we will be tackling the surface rust on the hood and also cutting out the portion of the International Scout Fender to be replaced.
