We're heading towards the Mountainous Adygea Nature Park, towards Mount Fisht. Fisht is the westernmost peak of the Caucasus. The distance from Apsheronsk to the park is 75 km. The drive takes approximately 1.5 hours. However, keep in mind that the last 30 km of the road will be gravel and, in places, uneven. Incidentally, a major road construction project has begun here, connecting us to Dagomys. This will be a fantastic alternative to the main road that runs along the sea. The project will be completed within two years. Driving along the dirt road, we come to a T-junction with a sign pointing left to Vodopadisty and right to Otdelenny. If you want to get to the park and see the tallest waterfall in southern Russia, turn left, towards Vodopadisty Stream. The Mountain Adygea Nature Park is located in a mountainous, forested area on the southwestern slope of the Pshekha-Su-Fisht mountain range in the Lagonaki Highlands. The park covers 5,770 hectares. This is where the Pshekha Waterfall is located. It is one of the highest cascades in the Russian Federation and certainly the most impressive in Adygea and the Krasnodar Krai. This natural wonder originates from the Pshekhachka River, a tributary of the Pshekha River, and soars between the Pshekha-Su and Fisht mountains. As for the height of the Pshekha Waterfall, scientists are divided on this matter, with two figures generally cited: 165 and 192 meters. Experts cannot agree on which section of the stream should be used as the starting point. In any case, both heights are impressive! Just get up close to the cascade to appreciate the sheer size of the Pshekha Waterfall.
