This engine is found in many Volkswagen and Audi vehicles including most MK5 GTI's. If the cam follower is not replaced, it can cause serious damage to the camshaft and high-pressure fuel pump. The job requires only a few minutes of your time and minimal tools. We show how to remove the banjo bolt, which most people find to be the hardest part of the job. Some vehicles have a banjo bolt, while others use a hose clamp fitting. For vehicles with the banjo bolt, we recommend using our Schwaben Stubby Driver Set to help easily reach the bolt. Side note: Many customers with tuned FSI engines choose to upgrade their high-pressure fuel pumps. This is required for Stage 2+ and K04 power levels.
