Double Tour en l'air
This video presents clips of double tours en l'air by Igor Zelensky, Frederico Bonelli, Herman Cornejo, and Manuel Legris. A double tour en l’air (French: turn in the air) is a standard step for men. The dancer takes off from fifth position (feet crossed) with arms providing momentum in the direction of the turn. After two turns, the dancer lands back in fifth position, lands in retiré (foot touching the knee), or in arabesque position. As in pirouettes, the dancer “spots” by delaying rotation of the head until it snaps around to the original position, focusing on a particular “spot” while the body moves at a constant speed.
