Join me as I fly from Tokyo Narita to Honolulu onboard All Nippon Airways’ incredible Airbus A380 “Flying Honu” in First Class. From the moment I stepped into the ANA Suite Check-in Lounge in Narita, the experience already felt special. But once onboard, things reached another level entirely. ANA’s First Class on the A380 is pure Japanese elegance. Spacious suites with sliding doors, exceptional attention to detail, and that calm, refined atmosphere as if we already were in Hawaii. The Suite itself is huge. Comfortable, private, and beautifully designed. It easily converts into a fully flat bed, and the amount of space is simply amazing for a flight to Hawaii. You really feel like you have your own little apartment in the sky. Then came the food… and wow. ANA’s First Class catering is easily among the best in the world. I went for the Japanese menu, which featured a multi-course kaiseki-style meal beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The Western option also looked fantastic, and everything was paired with top-quality champagne and wine. But what truly made this flight unforgettable was the crew. ANA’s cabin crew are in a league of their own. Incredibly polite, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. Every detail, every gesture felt intentional and sincere. They really live up to the reputation of Japanese Omotenashi, that warm, respectful style of hospitality that makes you feel valued as a guest. As the flight continued over the Pacific, I couldn’t help but look around and appreciate how peaceful the cabin felt. The Flying Honu, with its beautiful sea turtle design, is such a fitting symbol for this route. Connecting Japan and Hawaii, two island cultures known for their natural beauty and hospitality. Arriving in Honolulu after this flight felt surreal. ANA truly delivered one of the finest First Class experiences in the sky.
